Cracks can occur due to the large temperature differences that a thermowell must withstand.
This thermowell made of Hastelloy C22 was cracked on one of the welds and was in need of repair.
By slightly milling in the crack and welding it over in our custom made pruge chamber with a small weld, the repair has minimal impact on the material properties of Hastelloy C22.
