We received an order from a client asking if we could weld tantalum. With a melting point of over 3000 degrees, tantalum welding is a whole science.
The tantalum tube parts are assembled and welded by LKN WeldExo. despite the fact that it concerns an extreme metal, all welds must be welded correctly and according to the highest standards.
Complete procedure of preheating and welding is done in our unique in-house developed tantalum purge chamber, and constantly monitored by heat cameras and O2 logged below 10 ppm.
Tantalum is praised for its extreme corrosion resistance and melting point.
With a melting point as hot as the surface of the sun, and a corrosion resistance beyond the most extreme acids, this is a very special metal.
The tantalum tube components are now a composition that will defy its new environment.
